If there's one word to describe Rihanna, it's game-changer. And this year, the countdown to the 2023 Super Bowl is on as the icon prepares to take center-field for the halftime show in what is sure to be a performance for the ages.
When Rihanna commits, she commits. Whether she's producing an otherworldly Savage X Fenty show and strutting down the runway or changing the face of pregnancy style with her daring looks, there is no one quite like multi-Grammy winning singer and fashion mogul, whose next-level productions and entrepreneurship continuously raise the bar.
So when it comes to the 2023 Super Bowl, the bad gal billionaire is sure to bring savage energy to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and dazzle the nation with her highly-anticipated halftime show.
In September, the singer's fans rejoiced after she officially confirmed that she would be the 2023 Super Bowl halftime performer, sharing a photo on her Instagram and Twitter of just her hand holding an official NFL football. When asked, at the time, by TMZ about what she has in store, the pop star remained tightlipped on the subject, but did say, “I'm nervous...but excited.” But according to her boyfriend A$AP Rocky, no one is more excited than he is. During a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, he said, “The Super Bowl is huge, and her being the creative she is, she going to bring it, man. I'm excited. I'm more excited than everybody else, honestly.” The rapper added, “I'm so glad that my lady's back making music again and whatnot, and getting back out there. It's just incredible.”
And knowing how Rihanna operates, there's no doubt her halftime show set will be incredible. While we still don't know exactly what the “Diamonds” singer has in store, it's bound to be a Savage X Fenty-level show experience, as the Fenty Beauty founder has a reputation for innovative productions.
Sure, it's been some time since Rihanna dropped a new album – since 2016's Anti to be exact — but the new mom has been plenty busy. After a fashionable parade of pregnancy styles last year, the singer welcomed a baby boy with A$AP Rocky in May. But motherhood didn't slow the musician down. In addition to her fourth Savage X Fenty show on Amazon, the launch of Fenty Eau De Parfum, and the release of a new sport collection, Rihanna proved that you don't need a batch of new music to please the masses — or win awards. Rihanna, who also made her Golden Globes debut with A$AP earlier this month, recently earned her first Oscar nomination for her song, “Lift Me Up," featured on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. The moving ballad, which pays tribute to late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, captured the hearts of fans everywhere, including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
